The Opening Chapter
الفَاتِحَة
Ayat 1: With (the one whose) name (is) Allah*, the Merciful, the Compassionate.
1.بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Ayat 2: All praise is for Allah, the Lord* of the worlds**.
2.ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
Ayat 3: (He is) the Merciful, the Compassionate*.
3. ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Ayat 4: Owner of the time* of Judgement.
4. مَـٰلِكِ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ
Ayat 5: (Our Lord, it is ) You we serve*, and You we ask for help
5. إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ
Ayat 6: Guide us* to the straight path.
6. ٱهْدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ
Ayat 7: The path of those on whom You bestowed Your blessings, not those who brought upon themselves Your wrath and nor (of those) who went astray.
7. صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
